Santé assists recovery efforts for areas affected by Super Typhoon Odette

Pasig City, Philippines – [March XX, 2022] – More than three months after Super Typhoon Odette hit the country, recovery efforts are now underway for those directly affected, particularly in various areas, such as Mimaropa, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), about P28.676 billion worth of infrastructure and agriculture were lost, and 2,336,249 families were affected when the typhoon devastated the country.

“To say that ‘2021 was challenging for us Filipinos’ is an understatement. Aside from facing a global pandemic that endangered our health and caused instability in jobs, finances, and businesses, our fellowmen in the southern part of the country were heavily affected due to the aftermath of Typhoon Odette. And because of this, they were scrambling to find food to eat, clean water to drink, and decent roofs over their heads,” said Joey Marcelo, chief executive officer of Santé, a premier natural and organic health and wellness product and services provider.

Staying true to its mission in helping people live better lives, Santé, its employees and business owners has selflessly gathered their resources to assist their fellow members that were directly affected by the super typhoon.

The leading health and wellness brand successfully produced and turned over 63 relief boxes, which consisted of clothes, water, and other essentials. It also contained food, rechargeable electric fans, flashlights, blankets, pillows, and many more.

“At Santé, no one gets left behind. The spirit of giving and helping is a core value reflected not just in words but in our actions. We always aim to help people live better lives every day and every way. We hope that this donation can, in some ways, assist our affected Santé family members in alleviating the aftermath caused by Typhoon Odette,” Marcelo continued.

Among the affected areas the donation drive reached were Bacolod City, Bohol, Butuan City, Cebu City, Leyte, Kabankalan City, Palawan, and Surigao City.

“I sincerely thank the whole Santé family for their kind efforts to help those in need. Let us continue to remember and pray for our fellowmen in the severely affected areas of Visayas and Mindanao for their fast recovery. And may we all live more and do more,” Marcelo concluded.
